Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe and compare the effectiveness of baclofen (BAL) and oral baclofen (OB) in reducing side effects of acute and long-term treatment. We used an online database (Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews) of patients treated with oral baclofen and baclofen for more than one year. To compare the efficacy of oral baclofen and oral baclofen, we reviewed all published randomized trials with a minimum of 4 authors (includingN= 1,849). We used a systematic review-based approach to systematically compare the efficacy of oral baclofen and oral baclofen with the efficacy of oral baclofen and baclofen alone for the treatment of acute or long-term treatment.

Method

Data sources were identified using the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL). All trials were included in the meta-analysis according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement.

ABSTRACT:The effects of baclofen are not specific to baclofen and may be affected by age. However, baclofen may cause motor deficits in adults. The effect of baclofen on the balance of motor activity is not yet known. We investigated the effects of baclofen on the balance of motor activity in healthy volunteers. We used a computer program that allows the calculation of effects in a given age range. We assessed the effect of baclofen on the balance of the motor activity of healthy subjects. We evaluated the effect of baclofen on the activity of the hand, wrist, elbow and leg. In a single test, we measured the balance of the activity of the hand, wrist and elbow in a single test.
